Nik Pathran

Hi, I’m Nik Pathran, short for Nitin Kumar Pathran.

I’m the founder of Even Keel. I built it for the moment before you send something you’ll regret, when the stakes are high, the pattern driving you is hard to see, and the right reply is harder to find.

Since 2024 I’ve written Identity-Driven Work, a newsletter about the gap between who we are and who we become at work. Even Keel grew out of it. The patterns it names are the ones I write about in my newsletter.

Before Even Keel, I spent my career working out what products needed to be, then building them. I started as an engineer at Honda Cars India, co-founded CollegeDots, a student-progress and placement platform for colleges, and advised on product design at Paralaxiom Technologies. Then I founded Wishapp, an Android app for remembering the special occasions of the people closest to you and sending them wishes and gifts, and led product development for an early-stage fintech startup as an independent consultant.

I write as Nik Pathran, and I’m glad to hear from anyone who’s used Even Keel, or wants to.
